  Fight Back

The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible -

Oscar Wilde

(Must have been trying to read the cooking instructions)

I think a compliment ought always to precede a complaint, where one is possible, because it softens resentment and insures for the complaint a courteous and gentle reception -

Mark Twain

Complain

To The Supermarkets

Although the Supermarkets do not produce anything themselves, this is still the best place to start,  for several reasons:

They do have a "say" in the design of the packaging, especially if the product is an "Own Label Brand".

Secondly, this is usually the  "point of sale", in other words you bought it here, so complain here.

The competition amongst the major retailers can be used to our advantage.  None of them would like to get a reputation for discrimination  against people with Visual Impairments.   So use this approach when writing letters or speaking to people in the stores.

See the Examples of Letters for suggestions.

Complain

To The Manufacturers

The Manufacturers may be open to persuasion, but they are a harder "nut to crack".

Comments like,

"We  do give some thought to this problem when designing packaging"

"Yours is the only complaint we have received on this matter"

are common, the first is debatable, whereas the second may well be valid.

SO LET'S CHANGE THAT.

LET'S COMPLAIN.

FIGHT BACK.

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO SEE WHAT WE ARE BUYING.

Complain

To Clear Labelling

If you do not want to complain yourself, then we can do it for you.  Just let us know the details of the product, if possible scan the label and it can also be used on this site.

So any examples of BAD LABELLING let us know.
